The book opens to a series of projects featuring the animals of La Stanza nel Bosco: soft cushions created and handmade by the designer Stefania Conci and which have become the protagonists of Giovanna Fungi's stories.

Giovanna is a psychotherapist and teacher of mindfulness , works with schools, children and families and with these little books it offers a gradual approach to experiences in the field of emotional education and mindfulness practices for the developmental age, exploring the senses and emotions.

' A pot of snow ' is the first encounter with this world; occasionally, the book simply speaks to readers by asking them about their own experiences and feelings. Hedgehog shows the children how he learned to soften his quills after a scare, an experience to relate to; inside the den the warmth welcomes emotions of wonder, curiosity, affection, peace, joy and even a shred of excitement, up to the final surprise.

There is an encounter with the great silence of winter which begins.

The illustrations, edited by both authors, are handmade collages with colored paper and different materials, just like their meeting is a collage: a harmonious understanding dedicated to bringing children to be fully present in their real world, that of friendship and nature, with a pinch of imagination and the invitation to always remain open to wonder , even when they grow up.
